Product innovations from recycled material
Efficient, clever, sustainable
A key component of the OBO sustainability strategy is the increase of the material recycling component in production. Excess material or waste from production is not simply thrown away but is, wherever possible, fed back into the production cycle.
OBO flush-mounted boxes are manufactured with 100% green eco-power. In addition, the flush-mounted boxes are produced using a recycled material that consists of 80% used batteries. Reusing the plastic means OBO flush-mounted boxes contribute significantly to a sustainable material cycle.
Here too, the flush-mounted and cavity wall boxes can score with regard to sustainability. The entire portfolio is 100% halogen-free, ensuring additional safety in case of fire, as this reduces the creation of toxic smoke gases. In addition, the airtight variants of the cavity wall boxes are tested and certified for noise protection and achieve noise insulation of 70 dB without weakening the standard dry construction wall.

The project aligns with the following Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations
