Tracking and monitoring
Recognising potential savings
At OBO, we always strive to identify potential savings so that we can conserve resources wherever possible.
We are continuously tracking and monitoring savings in paper, water and energy. Tracking also helps us to recognise any potential savings in oil waste and pollutants. This enables us to effectively reduce our environmental impact.
Wherever we recognise savings potential, we translate these into appropriate measures. Some examples are:
- LED lighting in the logistics and production areas
- Heat recovery
- Using a power ventilation system in our Metal Competence Centre at our main site in Menden

The project aligns with the following Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations

More OBO projects – economic sustainability

Economic sustainability
OBO unites sustainable business with the considered use of resources and a fair supply chain.

Short delivery routes
For the sake of the environment we are reducing supply traffic. This is made possible by our high proportion of in-house production and our well-stocked warehouses.

Fair business relations
Our OBO Supplier Code of Conduct forms the basis for fair business relations around the world.

Responsibility across the supply chain
As a globally active company, our supply chains are becoming increasingly complex. We place great value on due diligence in human rights and fair business relations.

Digitalisation made by OBO
With smart products, methods and partners, we are advancing digitalisation in companies so that everyone benefits.

Shaping a sustainable future together
At OBO, we are convinced that we can only shape a more sustainable future if we work together.
